Princess Olivia 24 Days Old

Gracelyn Olivia was born October 28. She is very precious yet she has a lot to say for such a tiny soul. She will let you know how she feels by giving you the finger (sticking up her middle finger) as she did to me multiple times during this session.
Gracelyn, also known as Grace, Gracie or by her one of her older brothers "Princess Olivia".
While getting ready for the session, little Gracie had the hiccups and was not too concerned with sleeping. Thank goodness for the Baby White Noise app (found on the Google Play store for those interested) and some comfort rocking, she went right to sleep.
In the short amount of time she was asleep, I am happy to say we got some seriously cute photos to make you have baby fever.

 

Adalynn and Harper -NICU Preemie Prints

I was contacted by the NICU neighbor of Evan (posted below) who also wanted photos done of her twin girls, Adalynn and Harper. Sadly, I received this email regarding their information from the Preemie Prints organization.
Terra, the mother, states she had triplets on November 29th, 2011, they were born at 28 weeks. Two of the babies, Adalynn and Harper, are still in the NICU and we lost Scarlett, the smallest and last born at 12 days old. They have had a long go in the NICU but we are finally getting near seeing the end of their stay hopefully! They will be four months old next week.
Both girls have had lots of lung issues but are now finally after long weeks on room air. Harper has had to have surgery twice on airway to keep it from closing off on her. They also both have had troubles eating as just regular milk goes into their lungs so they have to eat thickened milk with rice. They have both overcome many hurdles to get where they are today!

To be honest, I was a bit nervous yet excited going into this Preemie shoot as I have never shot multiples.

NICU Preemie Evan

Evan and his twin brother Blake, were born on 11/29/11 at 24 weeks and 4 days gestation. Evan weighed 1 lb 7 oz when he was born. Blake weighed 1 lb 9 oz. They both had major issues with lung immaturity. Due to this, Blake developed many complications and passed away at 10 days old. Evan has now been in the NICU for 15 weeks. They have just started Evan on bottle/breast feeding.

Baby Monreau

Monreau came into my studio earlier this week as a product model. She mainly modeled some headbands and flower clips I had from A Tutu For Any Little Princess. Monreau is 10 weeks old and was such a doll. She put up with me waking her up to change her position every time she fell asleep.

Baby Nathaniel-Full Session

I posted a teaser photo a few days back. Well, I am here to post several photos from that session. Nathaniel was so tiny and so very well behaved. He didn't sleep 100% of the time but I will take half of that over not photographing a baby at all, any day!

Behind The Scenes

I don't typically like for clients to snap photos with their "professional" cameras when I am photographing because I feel sometimes they may try to start up their own business and use those photos. I welcome anyone that wants to tag along or learn and have gotten my approval before lugging their bulky camera to a session. A pocket sized point and shoot is no big deal though. Or even a cell phone. I welcome them to take any photos in between shots or before or after the session as long as they credit the photos back to myself. I do love behind the scenes shots though.

Here are some behind the scenes captured yesterday during a newborn session. Most taken with a cell phone hence the reason they are dark or blurred.

Baby Nathaniel

Nathaniel was born several weeks early. His mother and I were actually just scheduling a time for his newborn session the night she went into labor. Well, actually several hours BEFORE she went into labor. He didn't want to be a July baby, he insisted on June. He was born at 5 pounds 10 ounces and 18.5 inches long. What a tiny little peanut.
I was a wee bit excited though because his great great great uncle carved a trench bowl and he was able to fit perfectly inside that bowl.
I always tell the parents not to worry if the baby pees or poos on my blankets/props because the blankets are all washable. Turns out, Nathaniel did his duty on a white blanket but no biggie because it is in the wash as I type this. The good news is, I have yet to have a baby pee or poo on me (including my own child) and I am still safe to say that.

Newborn Portfolio Building Mini Session

The Details: You will recieve a print credit which allows you to choose a free 8x10 or smaller (up to a $25 value), session fee is waived ($125 value) and you also receive 50% off all standard pricing for prints, canvases, digital file pricing, collection pricing and any other product offered by Photography By Teresa. Photography By Teresa will provide 10-15 uniques images for you to from. All newborn infants must be under 14 days of age.

In exchange you (the client) will sign a model release which allows Photography By Teresa to use the images from our Newborn Portfolio Building Mini Session for advertising purposes which will include but not limited to business cards, website, blog, flyers, and all other advertising which will be decided at Photography By Teresa's discretion.

You (the client) will be able to choose any image in the 10-15 unique images provided for your print credit and all of the 10-15 edited images will be available for purchase in print, canvas, collection or can be put together in a CD for an additional cost.

Just FYI: Photography By Teresa will be holding these mini session from April 1st until April 14th. The sessions will be 1-hour and I will accept no more than 3 sessions a day in studio or in the comfort of your own home (as long as it is no more than 20 miles from my studio)

Olivia Newborn Portraits

Olivia did so well with her newborn portraits. She slept like a photographer's dream!

Kinsley Newborn

Kinsley did very well for her first set of portraits. She is the newborn baby of a friend of mine from high school. Kinsley's mom loves the big flowers and headbands and they worked out great for these photos.

Weston 4 Week Portraits

Weston is the baby of a family I have known since I was pregnant with my son. Mama has 3 other kids and this little guy was, I believe, the one out of all 4 of them who does NOT like his photo taken. These are some of the few that we were able to get out of Weston. What a handsome fella!
