Before and After

Not very often do I leave myself vulnerable but today I will show you a Before and After of a session I shot yesterday. This is also a teaser for what is to come later.

Aidan welcoming in the New Year

Not every child gets to rock out new year photos by taking them in his bedroom while sitting on his dresser. This time I actually didnt have to bribe him for photos. He really truly rocked these out!
All of these were done by natural light. He was against the wall on one side of his room while there was a big window straight across him on the other wall.

Aidan Christmas Portraits

It has been a while since I got my son into the studio. To get him to take some photos for me, especially with a silly Christmas hat on, I told him I was sending these photos to Santa.
He did so well.

Waiting On Santa

I made a promise to my son that I would take him on a train. I finally had a chance to make that promise happen. Our town was going to have a Santa train come through and stop so kids can see Santa. I took these photos while in line. He was a bit cold so he grabbed my scarf and it made for a great photo opportunity.

Littrell/Cleveland Family

I had the pleasure of having my nephew, Orion, back in the studio again and this time he brought his parents with him. He is such a little rock star.

Christmas Lights

My husband had the idea of playing around with some Christmas lights the night we set up our Christmas tree. I grabbed my camera and had a go with it as well. I cannot wait until next year to play some more.

Aidan's Almost 4 Years Old

We decided to paint my handsome man's bedroom. I took him to the local Lowe's and let him pick out his own paint color. While many outrageous colors were picked, he ended up with this gorgeous gray tone. It was great for using as a backdrop in some photos.

Barrett's Portraits

Barrett-or Bear as his mama likes to call him-came in with his newborn sister, Olivia, for some photos. Mama thought it a good idea to try to get some photos of Barrett as well but I got some not-so-sure-about-this type looks and then he was able to warm up to me a bit.

Katelynn Easter Portraits

Katelynn definitely has a personality all of her own. She was a great little gal to have in the studio for some Easter portraits.

Cameron and Preston Portraits

I knew Cameron before she was even born. Her mother went to the same high school I did and was pregnant the same time my older sister was. I was ecstatic to hear that she, the mom, would be having another baby and was delighted when years later she asked me to take photos of the 2 kiddos together. Cameron is such a great older sister and these candid sweet moments between the 2 of them definitely show it.

Candid Portraits

The photos I find the most intriguing or the most beautiful are the ones that are candid and show a lot of personality. When it comes to my child, I don't care if he is not looking at the camera. I see his face every day and would never forget it. I want photos that show who he is inside and out.
